Alpharetta supply chain software company Deposco raises $35M, plans to double in 2021

Alpharetta-based supply chain software company Deposco raised a $35 million investment and plans to double its team and expand its market reach in 2021.   The round was Deposco’s first institutional investment and led by Pennsylvania-based NewSpring, with participation from Aspen Capital Group and existing investors, according to a company blog post. Deposco CEO Bill Gibson said NewSpring was a good culture fit for the company’s leadership team.  Deposco, founded in 2011, works…

Atlanta exec sues New York delivery software firm GetSwift after he’s terminated

An Atlanta executive who was chief strategy officer for New York-headquartered delivery software firm GetSwift Inc. is suing after he was terminated. In a complaint filed Feb. 26 in federal court in Atlanta, John Wilson says he was engaged by GetSwift in 2017 to provide advisory services, and then was employed as the company’s chief strategy officer in 2018. Atlanta early-stage firm Silicon Road Ventures closes $31M fund focused on commerce technology

Atlanta early-stage investment firm Silicon Road Ventures closed its first fund of $31 million, which will be focused on commerce technology, according to a March 1 release.  The firm, founded in 2019, invests in startups across the country that focus on innovation in retail, e-commerce, financial technology, payments, logistics and supply chain.   The goal is to fund 40 startups over four years, said managing partner and founder Sid Mookerji. “I found that this industry really does…

The Atlanta Hawks didn’t wait until the midseason break to make personnel changes, firing head coach Lloyd Pierce on Monday after an underwhelming 14-20 start to the season.
