AmWINS is looking for an Associate Broker for their Atlanta location. The Associate Broker manages day-to-day servicing of a Broker’s accounts, including renewals. This position develops business relationships with retail producers and markets; negotiates with underwriters regarding coverage terms, conditions and pricing on new and renewal accounts; prepare quotes, cover notes and worksheets; maintains the diary system; verifies accuracy of insurance documentation; and performs other duties as assigned.

Associate Broker duties:

  • Maintains insurance records for accounts including compiling, calculating and managing information
  • Communicates by e-mail, telephone, and written correspondence with underwriters and producers
  • Researches and answers questions from carriers and producers
  • Obtains and distributes information from renewal lists
  • Prepares draft proposals, submissions and quotes
  • Follows up with insurance carriers and underwriters regarding the status of quotes and provides any additional information or rates as necessary
  • Edits or revises documents as requested
  • Oversees diary for receipt of insurance documents
  • Researches and answers questions regarding loss information
  • May prepare and update summaries in database as required
  • May prepare coverage confirmation for review
  • Reviews binders for accuracy and completeness
  • Participates in training of Technical Assistants
  • Sorts and distributes work assignments for Technical Assistants
  • Maintains business relationships with producers and underwriters
  • Maintains knowledge of insurance carriers and their business practices
  • Participates in continuing education to maintain license

Associate Broker requirements:

  • College Degree
  • 3-5 years of Brokerage or Underwriting experience preferred
  • Broker’s License required
  • Developed understanding of risk selection and coverage
  • Well developed oral and written communication skills
