Responsible for the company material damage quality assurance reinspections of the staff appraisers, independent appraisal firms, repair facility network program and salvage facility program for a designated geographic area to ensure acceptable material damage results are given and that company procedures are being properly applied. Provides training for staff appraisers, IA’s, repair facilities, etc. on these types of appraisals. This position will cover the Atlanta Georgia a


  • 1. Performs quality control audits on material damage appraisals written by adjusters, staff appraisers, independent appraisers or repair facilities to evaluate quality, technical skills and fraud awareness, and ensures adherence to company and state standards. Scores variance and provides reports back to management as assigned.
  • 2. Assists in managing the performance of the staff appraiser, independent appraiser, and repair facility appraisals/estimates for quality/accuracy and provides the appropriate manager with specific information on exceptions noted during field re-inspection.
  • 3. Negotiates with repairer or vehicle owner on excessive repair charges and/or items not replaced but paid for and reaches a readjusted payment agreement on the exception(s) found. Contacts the office involved and advises of disposition and action to be taken.
  • 4. Manages repair center network to include body shop reviews, negotiations, supplement audit and completion, customer updates and estimate authority for payment.


1. Minimum of five (5) years of physical damage experience, with three (3) years as a field appraiser required. Demonstrated expertise in all areas of appraising including the latest in repair techniques for all types of vehicles and materials and in electrical, mechanical, design and construction.

2. Good verbal and written communication skills.

3. Good planning and organizational skills required.

4. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and appraiser license as required at all times.

5. Has access to and maintains confidential information regarding the work of others.

6. Good leadership skills and the ability to effectively mentor and train others.

7. ICAR Platinum Level required. ASE preferred.


1. Position requires the ability to operate a company vehicle within assigned territory, work in potentially adverse weather conditions, and the ability to inspect all parts of the vehicle, including the interior and undercarriage.

2. Position requires being able to drive/sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to reach, handle, squat, bend, climb kneel as needed to assess vehicle damage. Exposed to body shop environments and outdoors up to 50% of the time working.

3. Requires overnight travel within assigned territory and for special assignments.

4. Work hours will vary based on current workload and projects.
