GPD is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Designer for our Atlanta, GA office location.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Mechanical Engineer with 4-10 years of experience in the field of Retail/Commercial design with a focus on multi-site, retail or restaurant projects. Experience and design growth opportunities with Educational (PK-12 and Higher Ed.), Healthcare, Process Engineering and Industrial.
  • PE License preferred, but not required.
  • Experienced in HVAC Design and Plumbing Design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but not required.
  • Proficient in Building load calculations (Carrier HAP).
  • Sizing and selection of HVAC Equipment.
  • Proficient with ASHRAE 90.1 and 62.1.
  • Ability to work within a team environment working with individuals from various offices and in various disciplines.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, professional writing skills and the ability to multi-task between several projects and priorities at one time.
  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Some travel required for building surveys and construction administration.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Day-to-day job responsibilities:

  • Project design for mechanical and plumbing system.
  • Addressing construction RFI’s and review of equipment submittals.
  • Communication and coordination with multi-disciplinary groups.
