Metro Atlanta housing sales tumble nearly 37% in May

Single-family housing sales in metro Atlanta plummeted 36.8% in May compared to last year’s numbers, according to the latest report from the Atlanta Realtors Association. The dip in sales is attributed to the statewide shelter-in-place order that was implemented to slow the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Total homes sales in May in the 11 counties of metro Atlanta was 4,085. In May 2019, a total of 6,465 homes were sold. The drop in May is steeper than the 25.8% decrease recorded in April.…
