Specific Responsibilities:


What You’ll Do:

As the Service Technician, you will provide technical support on installations, service, technical resolution, and product training to meet or exceed the needs of the customers.


Your Accountabilities in the Role:

  • Assists with the installation and service of new or existing equipment and overhead conveyors throughout North America to ensure an efficient process that is aligned to the scope of the project.
  • Handles the equipment training of new and current products with the customers to ensure they can operate the equipment effectively.
  • Trouble-shoots equipment issues to resolve issues as efficiently as possible with minimal interruption.
  • Completes all administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner, using database applications at times.
  • Observes all safety, quality, and other company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Coordinates and assists in other areas of the business, as needed, to ensure the customer’s needs are met.

Requirements:


Position Requirements:


  • Education:
    High school diploma with great technical and/or mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience:
    3+ years of progressive experience with poultry or food processing equipment preferred; will train other with a related background

  • Functional Skills:
    Strong technical and/or mechanical aptitude; Solid analytical and problem-solving skills required to handle obstacles quickly. Ability to follow processes/directions. Strong ability to multi-task. Requires a valid driver’s license and good driving record. Will drive a company pick-up truck. Ability to weld would be a plus. Ability to use basic tools/power tools is a requirement. Must be able to read manufacturing prints/footprints of buildings and basic facility layouts.

  • Technology Aptitude/Skills:
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with ability to enter data into mobile database devices.

  • Language Skills:
    Solid verbal and written communication skills; able to present and train customers on existing and new products. Ability to speak Spanish would be a plus.

  • Leadership/Behaviors:
    Demonstrates a high customer-service and support personality who has a strength in educating others; forward thinking and resourceful to handle obstacles quickly; works well independently and with a team to collaborate on best practices. Excellent ability to listen and follow directions. Safety and Quality minded.

Other Important Information:


Salary
: Salary is commensurate with proven expertise.

Reports To: Technical Service Manager

Core Hours: Varies based on travel & customer needs; installations/service calls may be during weekdays or weekends.

Typical Work Week: M-F; with some additional hours as needed; 60 hours a week on average

Work Conditions:
Typically, in a food processing environment; areas may have high heat, cool areas, and are wet. Lifting up to 75 lbs. is required.

Travel: Will continually travel in this role. Typically, 4 days traveling; 3 days at home on average; travel can be up to 3 weeks in a row.
