The Network Engineer role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the network systems that support core functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, deploying, supporting and optimizing all network systems. The Network Engineer will apply proven communication, analytical, project management and problem solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. The Network Engineer will report to the Network Technologies Manager and Director of Infrastructure.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in managing all LAN\WAN and firewall services across 35+ locations including internationally
  • Identifying opportunities, technical risks and impacts of technology solutions
  • Implementing new solutions to improve network resilience of the current environment
  • Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages
  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Switches, Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco Routers, Meraki, Juniper Routers, Cisco ASA and FirePower Module, Palo Alto Firewalls, DMZ, AnyConnect
  • Thorough understanding of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, vPC
  • Designing and administrating DMVPN, Meraki AutoVPN, application and bandwidth optimization, QoS
  • Designing and administrating MPLS network connectivity, Point-to-point 10GB infrastructure, site-to-site circuit redundancy, active\active data center connectivity
  • Understanding and administrating MP-BGP EVPN VXLAN Data Center Architecture
  • IP address management, Internal\External DNS management, public IP address space configuration
  • Knowledge of Cisco IP Telephony, Microsoft Teams Telephony, Azure, AWS, Hyperconverged infrastructure
  • Knowledge of, but not required, VMware, HPE Simplivity Hyperconverged infrastructure, IMC central
  • Troubleshooting requests regarding network connectivity and performance issues including working with vendors to isolate and resolve tier 4 issues
  • Scheduling maintenance via change control and perform changes during maintenance windows
  • Testing, evaluating and proposing recommendations on best practice methodologies surrounding emerging technologies that would benefit the firm
  • Liaising with IT, Vendors and Business
  • Providing Tier 3 support to support desk when appropriate

You will need:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • CCNA, CCNP preferred
  • Minimum 4 years working in Systems\Network Engineer capacity
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Solid project management, project delivery and time management skills
  • Ability to mentor other engineers as well as members of other IT teams
  • Excellent oral and written presentation and documentation skills
  • Task oriented, with ability to initially triage, scope and define technical problems
  • Ability to document any working environment leveraging applicable tools to produce a consumable end product (Visio/QRG/as-built/user-guide)
  • Understanding of the existing technical environment and overall architecture
  • Ability to identify & execute appropriate escalation steps for problem resolution
  • Ability to manage task(s) (initiate and complete independently) and projects to completion
  • Continually demonstrates effective & clear communication with all tiers of IT
  • Ability to coordinate, drive, and facilitate meetings & presentations
  • Flexibility for weekend on-call coverage
  • Flexibility within reasonable accessibility and travel between offices
