Job Description

Responsibilities include leading Process Engineering activities for the construction of industrial facilities that produce Renewable Transportation Fuels. This includes designing and preparing process models and documents such as Basis of Design, Design Philosophy, Process Descriptions, PFD, P&IDs. Work on all stages of a project from Pre-FEED, FEED, EPC detailed engineering to mechanical completion/ construction phase and support the commissioning stage. Interact and collaborate with senior company management, clients, vendors, fabrication, and other engineering disciplines to be able to complete tasks and resolve issues. Complete projects in the most safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

  • Build the simulation for the project in HYSYS.
  • Develop and own all process engineering design, documents and drawings for BOD, PFD, P&IDs,

DP/DT, H& MB, equipment & instrument datasheets, Process Control philosophy, Cause and
Effect diagrams and information for operating manuals production team.

  • Size piping, equipment and instrument datasheets including PSV datasheets to include negotiating solution costs from suppliers and vendors.
  • Collaborate closely and conduct P&ID reviews with senior management, clients and other engineering internal disciplines.
  • Document all calculations and work processes in a clear, concise format in centralized location.
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Power Point slide decks and Outlook.
  • Participate and resolve HAZOP and P&ID action items.
  • Communicate with Project Managers, other engineering disciplines and other stakeholders to keep track of tasks, deliverables and schedules.
  • Ability to work with and build relationships with different functional groups
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are required
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Must be able to explain proposals, reports and findings to the organization.
  • Demonstrates technical leadership skills, including negotiation skills, assertiveness, flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Coordinate the process engineering activities of the project and will direct and administer discipline activities including pricing with external contractors/suppliers/vendors/fabricators as required.
  • This role is the most senior lead for site executed projects or manages significantly large projects regionally and/or nationally. Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in process engineering discipline and basic knowledge of related engineering disciplines.
  • Apply Global Project Methodology (GPM) and Process Engineering Work Process Discipline.
  • Provide overall planning/scheduling for discipline and monitor/maintain progress against the plan.
  • Direct the activities of the discipline members of the project team and coordinate activities with other disciplines.
  • Ensures discipline design deliverables meet the needs of the project including functioning as intended, on time and within budget.
  • Ensures that the process design is safe, meets LPP’s and other EH&S requirements.
  • Manage deployment of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques, quality.
  • Identifies technical problems and appropriately engages the business technology center and technical experts to resolve.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in chemical engineering, PhD. major +
  • At least 7 years of experience working with a known oil and gas or an oil and gas Engineering,

Procurement and Construction company. Process Engineering and design engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing sector and experience with Front End Loading (FEL)

  • Analytical in nature with the ability to be decisive and results oriented with a bias for action
  • Blackbelt Certification
  • Having a Professional Engineering License is a major +

Skill sets:

  • Develop simulations and have extensive knowledge for sizing equipment, piping and instruments
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver on schedule with quality
  • Team player, professional, respectful with all coworkers with good communication skills and problem-solving skills
