Working as a key leader within the Consumer Insights and Analytics team, the Team Lead Guest Insights will act as a strategic business partner, leading the design, execution, analysis, and reporting of consumer research. As the Team Lead Guest Insights, you will be responsible for guiding brand decisions using data and research-driven insights and recommendations. This person will be experienced at identifying the research methodologies, executing research plans and turning data into insight for maximum impact. This role will also lead vendor-partner relationships for various industry data providers. This role is based in the Atlanta Headquarters and is expected to travel occasionally for consumer research and to visit stakeholders in the Sonic office in Oklahoma City.


  • Have a thorough understanding of our consumers, conducting and mining consumer research to identify growth targets, triggers and barriers and demand space opportunities

  • Conduct consumer research to identify actionable insights and unmet consumer needs that inform the basis for marketing activations and new product offerings

  • Lead, coach and manage a team of direct reports to deliver timely project management of consumer research and data analysis

  • Socialize insights across Inspire Brands, making connections between business partners; leverage the latest technology to make insights sharing and knowledge management more efficient

  • Lead continuous development of reporting and data visualization output to share insights about consumer behavior trends, industry traffic and guest demographics

  • Lead process improvement projects, resulting in more robust, effective, and predictive research methodologies and tools

  • Partner with the other functional leads in the Consumer Insights and Analytics Teams to provide holistic recommendations to the various Inspire Brands


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Social Science or related field

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Market Research (MMR) preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in Marketing Research, Data Analytics, Consulting or related field


  • Significant experience designing and leading both qualitative and quantitative research studies, with expertise in techniques and methodologies

  • Experience in consumer market research including questionnaire development, survey deployment, analysis and presentation of results and key insights

  • Strong user of research platforms (e.g. Qualtrics, Decipher) and the Microsoft Suite of products (Excel, PPT, Word); experience with industry databases (e.g. NPD CREST) a plus

  • Ability to synthesize and translate consumer research into strong actionable insights in order to address business challenges

  • Well-versed in ever changing research methodologies and possesses the ability to apply research to address business challenges

  • Proven collaboration, strategic thinking, and leadership skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially the ability to explain difficult concepts and insights in applicable business terms. Strong ability to summarize insights into presentations in clear and understandable calls to action

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent project management skills

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
