Job Description

Reports to
: Tool and Die Manager

Job Purpose
: Ultimately responsible for minor repair and maintenance of dies, punches, tool steel, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Determine the extent and method of repair to dies by means of careful inspection and accurate measurement.
  • Perform repair operations to dies.
  • Set up and operate standard drill press, grinder and other machine tools as directed under general supervision
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by supervisor.
  • Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards.


  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to perform standard shop computations (math)
  • Ability to read schematics (blue prints), engineering drawings, and technical manuals
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment
  • Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments as well as work within a team environment
